Biography: 
Dr. Rice serves as the Medical Director for the Inpatient Gastroenterology Service as well as the Director of the University of Michigan Small Bowel Program. Dr. Rice has clinical and research interests in small bowel endoscopic imaging techniques (video capsule endoscopy and double balloon enteroscopy) in the diagnosis and management of HHT and suspected small bowel bleeding. Dr. Rice has been managing gastrointestinal care for HHT patients since completion of his gastroenterology fellowship in 2004. He currently follows numerous patients and their family members with gastrointestinal manifestations of HHT. He believes that health care services can be improved by building more effective partnerships among health care providers, nursing, patients and families.
