Biography:
Dr Trerotola developed an interest in HHT during his residency at Johns Hopkins. After leaving Johns Hopkins to direct the Interventional Radiology division at Indiana University, he developed an active HHT practice in Indianapolis, caring for a large number of HHT patients with PAVMs from a four-state area. In 2001 he moved to Philadelphia to direct the IR division there, and shortly thereafter Penn became an HHT Center of Excellence. Dr Trerotola now co-directs the Center with Dr Reed Pyeritz. The Penn HHT center has rapidly become one of the busiest, and in addition to treating hundreds of patients' PAVMs, Dr Trerotola has published multiple papers about PAVM embolization during his tenure there. He cares for patients of all ages, treating children at the neighboring Children's Hospital of Philadelpia.
