I have had an interest in HHT and related disorders since my fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, especially with the overlap of HHT and Juvenile Polyposis syndrome.
I have been the Texas Children’s Hospital Director of Interventional Gastroenterology since 2008. I am currently a Professor of Pediatrics and adjunct Professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Subsequently, I developed the Pancreaticobilary Program(PBP) and Polyposis Program and have been a member of the Texas Children’s Hospital Vascular Anomaly Team since its inception. Since 2006, I have also been a member of the Transplant Hepatology Program and served as the transplant fellowship director since 2019. I am one of only a few individuals in the country trained in both ERCP/EUS that carries the American Board of Pedistrics CAQ in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology. I have also served on the NASPGHAN Executive Council and chaired the Endoscopy Committee and a past member of the ASGE Standards of Practice and Training Committees.
It is such a honor to be part of the Texas Children’s Hospital Vascular Anomaly Program and to work on a medical team with such vast expertise and dedicated to the care of patients with HHT. We received the distinguished designation of HHT Center of Excellence!
